Update for Daddy

Matt's taking a course in Maine for the next two weeks, and so here is the daily update for him . . .
7am: Riley woke up. She sleeps in when Matt's alarm doesn't go off at 5am!
7-8:30am: I chased Riley around trying to convince her to eat and to get dressed for the day. The picture above is Riley still in her PJs.
9-10: Flutterby exhibit at the zoo. We also checked out the snake exhibit bc Riley is working on her "S" sound, and I thought this would be helpful.
11-5: Riley goes to daycare. Donnah works (feeling guilty bc she went in late).
6-7: Dinner, bath, and bedtime snuggle
Somewhere in there I called AAA to replace the battery in the car (not the new car) and I did some housework and laundry (there is a lot less laundry when Matt's not home). I tried to pull weeds, too, but Riley disagreed w that plan, and so the weeds are waiting for Matt's return.
8-now: Riley's sound asleep with five dollies in her crib tonight. I'm procrastinating finishing a paper for work . . .

Flutterby

Riley and I snuck out to the zoo this mornings to see the butterfly exhibit. Riley loved the flowers but was a little afraid of the butterflies. She kept pointing at them saying, "No, no, no."

Riley's Month of June

I have blogged a BUNCH of pictures of Riley's month of June. We have been very busy--and the month isn't over! Riley gets taller and taller (but that belly doesn't get much smaller), and she gets more curious and talkative every day. She's such a little girl now.

Graduation

Here is the actual graduation night. In the center is Dr. Ehrlich, otherwise known as "The Boss." It's been a long five years of residency for Matt--and two more of fellowship left!

Matt's Graduation

Oh, and somewhere in the middle the week, Matt managed to graduate from his orthopedics residency. Here he is with his classmates, celebrating before the graduation ceremony. (Riley stayed at the beach house with her grandparents).

Beach Days

Nana and Grandpa visited us, too! Nana thought the water wasn't cold, but I sat on the beach in a sweater, taking pictures.

Beach Days

We spent a gorgeous week in Groton Long Point, CT. Riley experienced beach life for the first time!

Strawberry Pickin'

We took Riley to Jaswell's farm to pick strawberries. Riley wasn't as helpful as you'd think. She took a bite out of every strawberry I put into the basket for awhile, and when she got tired of that, she spent some time squishing the rest.

New House

Just because Matt and I aren't getting a new home this year . . . that doesn't mean that Riley shouldn't get a new house. Here is her brand new plastic house. She was mad at it yesterday because there was an ant inside it, but today she's better.

Nikki's graduation

You probably have been wondering where we've been lately! Well, it has been busy. Here we are in the beginning of June at cousin Nikki's graduation party. Riley is with Uncle Denis and Popo here. At Nikki's party Riley learned that she loves slush (preferably the messier, darker colors) and loves playing with small dogs and their toys.
