what's wrong w the dates?

some of my posts are coming up with the wrong dates. does anyone have any idea of why or how i can fix this? thanks

we finally got a picture of riley signing. here she is asking for "more" food. she ate almost her entire kid's meal: scrambled egg, home fries, toast and apple juice. she's a little piglet!

the official easter dress

we had family photos done. here is riley after the shoot, modeling her sweet easter dress, with an entire cookie in her mouth.

oh, she has a new tooth peeking through her bottom gum! teething again! argh--

merry-go-round

riley got to ride the merry-go-round while we waited for her easter pictures to be developed. she chose the race horse! maybe she has a future as a jockey?!?!

she's wearing her special easter outfit that nana and grandpa plante gave her. it's from hanna andersson, my new favorite online store.

here we are at brunch the day before easter. riley has no real affinity for this weird rabbit, but it did give her a stuffed animal and a few eggs.

updates

we're all getting over being sick. riley still has a little runny nose, but she's learning to use tissues.

as you can see, riley is growing--out of her clothes! she is learning more and more sign language daily. her latest favorite toys include books with flaps and music, refrigerator magnets, and toy kitchen gadgets (she's an expert at making cookies). she still enjoys library story time and the baby gym. we're soon to sign up for another waterbabies session.

next week matt and i will be in puerto rico on vacation. riley is staying home with her grandparents. someone has to take care of the cats! there's still a 50% chance that i won't get on the plane--a week without the baby!?!?!?!

1 week ago . . .

this picture was taken one week ago, before we all got the flu.
this was before fevers, cough, runny noses, nausea, body aches. this was before the shaking chills. before i was quarantined from the hospital for a day.

we're all on the road to recovery now.

unfortunately, you may notice that we're in the mall in this picture. sadly, we were likely infectious at this time but did not know it!

potty time, part 2

here is riley, after the potty experience. you can see that she isn't scarred. she's quite relaxed in her little duck tub. i'm pretty sure she's wondering why anyone would use the potty when you can just use this relaxing, warm bath?

riley is in no way ready for potty training, but matt thought he'd try anyway. here she is, just before bathtime, trying out the new potty. you can see how excited she is . . .

Dollie Goes for a Ride

riley has been giving dollie rides in her train. it may be time to buy riley a toy carriage!

you'll notice the easter egg behind riley. she's still practicing for the great easter egg hunt on the big day. she's an expert now.

you also may notice that riley's hair is out of control. i have no idea what to do with it. any suggestions?

watching elmo on t.v.

along with the elmo theme of our lives . . .
here are riley and matt watching the box office hit, _elmo in grouchland_. you can see that riley is entranced. matt is singing along with the songs in his head.

riley is ridiculously content here: elmo, a dollie, a sippy cup, and daddy. her world is complete.

"All Gone!"

this is riley's sign for "all gone." it can also mean, "i don't know."

you'll notice that riley is holding two sesame street character plastic little people--big bird and snuffie. they have been stored for 30 years by popo ellie in new hampshire. that's why they're smaller than the current little people series. riley loves them, but she is sad that she can't find elmo: he didn't exist 30 years ago on sesame street! well, that's not exactly true. in the beginning of sesame street, he had a bit part as a baby monster. it wasn't until 1985 that he took a lead .
